Floating Damage Text in Unity

Learn how to make 2D Floating Damage Text like is done in the mobile game Random Dice. This is sometimes also called damage popup text.

Damage Text is a great way to add game feel into your game for your players as well as give positive feedback to the player that their skill, ability, or attack has landed and made some impact on their target.

This works on any modern version of Unity, 2018 LTS, 2019 LTS, 2020, and 2021.

We're using LeanTween (https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/animation/leantween-3595?aid=1101l9QvC) instead of the Animator component since we're animating on the UI and the Animator has a relatively large performance cost on the UI.
